Salat Preparation: Step-by-Step Guide

Namaz (prayer; Plural salah or “salat “) is one of the five pillars of Islam. According to prophet muhammad (pbuh), it is obligatory for all adult muslims (who have reached puberty) to complete five namaz daily, and children over ten years of age should be strictly required.

It is believed that contacts with Allah play an important role in strengthening the faith of the believer. Muslims think that Allah speaks to us through the qur ‘an and the advice to answer Allah is our source no matter how Muslim you pray or if you’re just curious about what you’re looking for to know yourself, it’s too early to start ever.

Salah is not intended to be implemented only as a mandatory. Rather, it is the first and ongoing sign of obedience to the believer to Allah almighty.

How To Pray Namaz

Learn “how to pray” in the perfect way. Namaz/(prayer/salah) is the best worship of Allah. Muslims around the world offer namaz/prayers five times a day. This is a reward from Allah on muslims. Namaz/Prayer is one of the five pillars of Islam. Namaz, Prayer or Salat, is the most important part of Islam.

Learning how to pray is an important step in a Muslim’s religious ban. Understand the importance associated with prayer, the schedule regarding prayer should be observed, and the appropriate positions to perform namaz/prayer should be followed so that you can participate in prayer

It is mandatory for all muslims to try to understand the effects of the words of recitation in namaz /prayer because it will help us to focus much better to get benefits like we see before Allah or they see us in the light of the fact that during the greeting, muslims meet Allah 5 times every day so in case we understand what we are describing in namaz/prayer, it will empower us to feel more modest and communicate with the Lord of the universe in dissatisfaction.

Types Of Salah

There are four different types of namaz /prayer that make up five daily prayers.

  • Fardh (missing a  Fardh namaz/salah is considered a serious sin) imperative.
  • Wajib / Obligatory (disappearance is considered a sin, not just as big as farah salah).
  • Sunnah There are two types, one rasoolullah regularly known as mu’akkadah and one prophet sometimes prayed, ghair mu’akkadah.
  •  Nafil / volunteer This table summarizes the number of rituals for each prayer.

These should be memorized so that you know how many rak ‘ahs you will need to pray. A rak ‘ah can be seen as a single unit or cycle of prayer.

Preparing For Prayer

Make sure that the area selected for namaz/prayer is clean and free from impurities. This includes your body, your clothes and your place of namaz/prayer.

Perform Wudu

Do wudu well. You must be purely pure before you start praying. Read here How to perform wudu?. If you are not, you must perform ablution (ablution) before doing it. If since your last namaz/prayer, you have urinated, defeated, passed gas, seduced excessive, passed madhi (urethral fluid) or slept deeply, you need to perform ablution

  • If you are praying in a mosque (mosque), which is highly encouraged for men, then other muslims can enter quietly and you do not want to disturb them.
  • Many Muslim families have a dedicated area for salah in their home.Spread the mat on the floor if you are not sure to clean the place for prayer. This namaz/prayer is very important for islamic culture.

Perform Ghusal

Perform a bath (full shower) if required. Some conditions will require that you take a bath instead of wudu ‘, before the namaz/prayer, remove the impurities (impurities) and become completely purified. You need to pay for a bath if you want to pray after sex, finish your menstrual period or post-menstrual bleeding, give birth, wet dreams or ejaculate with sexual pleasure.

  • To bathe, it is necessary to wash your whole body and hair with water. It is requested to wash 3 times.
  • Note that anything that prevents water from touching essential areas of the body when you either perform ablution or bath must be removed, including such things as nail polish, accessories and waterproof mascara.
  • If you do not perform ablution or bath when required by the shariah, the prayer will not be valid or accepted.

Perform Tayammum

Perform tayammum (dry purification) if required. If a Muslim is unable to use water, he may choose to perform tamim instead of ablution or bath. This ritual involves the use of clean soil or dirt or natural stone that has not been used before performing a tayammum.

Face the Qibla

Face the qibla This is the direction that all muslims have to turn towards the ka ‘bah in namaz/prayer. The holy mosque in Mecca is the most respected place of worship for muslims all over the world. All muslims face the ka ‘bah five times a day while praying.

  • If you are traveling on a plane or plane and fear that the time of namaz/prayer will end before you reach a place where you can determine the direction of the ka ‘bah, then in that case, you can offer prayers without facing the ka ‘bah.
  • It is mustahab (recommended) that a person should face the ka ‘bah at least during the ihram, saying “Allah akbar” at the beginning of the namaz/prayer.

Pray At The Proper Time

Namaz/pray at the right time. Five prayers per day are held at very specific times according to one’s geographical location and time of the year. There is a short period of time for everyone, it can be determined by the rise and fall of the sun. Each fardh’s counsel takes about 5 to 10 minutes from the beginning to finish, but should never be quick.

  • Try to perform namaz /prayers at the start of the given time, as Allah will appreciate your enthusiasm to pray.
  • Five namaz /prayers are fajr, zuhr, asr, maghrib, and isha. They are in the morning, noon, mid-afternoon, sunset and nighttime respectively. They are not at the same time every day, because they are at the time of the sun, which changes the way throughout the seasons.
  • Each of the five namaz/prayers has a specific number of rak ‘ah (units), as follows: obligatory prayer: – fajr prayer (2 units (rak ‘ah) – zuhr prayer (4 units (rak ‘ah)) – asr prayer (4 units (rak ‘ah)) – maghrib prayer (3 units (rak ‘ah) – isha prayer (4 units (rak ‘ah)).
  • FAJR

Furthermore, many muslims chose to follow the example of prophet muhammad (pbuh) while performing extra optional namaz/prayers around the obligatory prayers, a daily cycle of.

  • ZUHR

 Four rak ‘ahs sunnah mu’akkdah

(optional but highly recommended) then four rak ‘ah fiqh (obligatory) then two rak ‘ahs sunnah mu’akkdah (optional but highly recommended) then two rak ‘at nafl (optional).

  • ASR

Four rak ‘ah sunnat ghir mutaqif (optional but spiritually beneficial), then four rak ‘ah fardh (obligatory).

Three rak ‘ah nafl (obligatory), then two rak ‘ah sunnah mu’akkadah (optional but maximal recommended), then two rak ‘at nafl (optional).

  • ISHA

four rak ‘ah sunnat then four rak ‘ah fiqh (obligatory) then two rak ‘ah sunnah mu’akkadah (optional but highly recommended) then two rak ‘at nafl (optional) then three rak ‘at watar (optional but highly recommended) then two rak ‘at nafl (optional).

  • While there is no punishment for not praying sunnah and nafl, they are a gift from almighty Allah to be embraced to improve one’s relationship with almighty Allah and to earn extra rewards.

Learn to say Prayers in Arabic

Learn to say salat/prayer in Arabic. Prayer must be performed in Arabic because it is the language in which the quran was revealed. It also allows muslims from outside arabic-speaking countries to recite prayers and understand what is being said. All prayers speaking in the same language avoid the confusion of translating words into other languages.

  • Take courses in Arabic at your local college. Learn the correct pronunciation with the Arabic speaker and practice it because salat/prayer can be wrong if it is not read correctly.
  • You should help to pronounce the essential namaz/prayer words. You can also use online sources for Arabic pronunciation.
  • Non-arabic speaking children will benefit from attending evening or learning in Arabic from weekend madrasa classes and studying the quran.

How To Pray Namaz Woman Step By Step

Step _1

Stand closely together with one’s feet, raise one’s hands, shoulders, to the surface of the palms facing the qiblah, fingers spun naturally, covered with one’s wrists and forearms.

_‘Allahu akbar’ (allahu akbar one should pronounce the opening takbeer so loudly that one can hear himself. This is a condition for all prayers and it is also a recitation of one’s qur ‘an and there is also a recitation of tashahhud in every sitting.

The first takbeer completes the prayer and all actions go to foreign prayers – such as drinking and eating – a prayer is prohibited until it ends.

For the remaining part of the salat/prayer, no one raises one’s hand while announcing the takbeer, except for the extra takbirat of witr prayer and eid prayer.

_Leap on one’s right palm without moving it above the left hand, rest both above the chest, one’s eyes are focused on the prostration. Stay in this position for steps 4 to 9.

_Make an opening prayer with a low voice. It also applies to followers, providing that the imam has not started reciting.

“Subhanak-Allah humma wabi hamdika watabara-kasmuka wata aala jadduka walaa ilaha ghairuk”

(All Glory be to You O Allah! Praise is to You; Blessed is Your Name and Exalted is Your Majesty; there is none worthy of worship except You)

_Ta ‘wwudh says with a low voice. If there is any follower behind the imam, be silent.

“Auzu billahi minash Shaytaanir-rajeem”

( I seek protection with Allah from the cursed Shaitan/devil )

Say bismillah with a low voice. If there is any follower behind the imam, be silent.

“Bismillahir rahmanir-raheem”

(In the Name of Allah, Most Kind, Most Merciful)

_Recite all the verses of surah al-fatiha. If there is any follower behind the imam, be silent and listen carefully.

(note: it is different from Shafi’i madhhab, for which a person needs to recite surah fatiha in all cycles (rak ‘ah) even if someone is praying behind the imam.)

On finishing surah al-fatiha, say ‘Ameen (آمین) in your voice. It also applies to followers.

_At least one small chapter (surah) is the quran or a long verse which is equal to one short chapter is the recitation.

Examples of short chapters (surah) are: surah al-ikhlaas, surah al-falaq, or surah al-nas.

Surat al-Ikhlas,Surat al-Nas, Surat al-Falaq,

“Subḥāna rabbīl-ʿaẓīm”

(Glory be unto my Lord, the Great).

_Say this plea in a low voice while going to a standing position.

“Samiʿa Allahu liman ḥamidah”

(Allah hears those who praise Him)

The follower remains silent while the imam says this sentence.

_Stand fully This plea is called in low voice while the place of prostration is fixed with one’s eye on the standing position. It also applies to followers

“Rabbanā lakal-ḥamd”

(Our Lord, all praise is for You alone).

It’s more than enough to say.

_Say Allah ‘Akbar’ (الله أكبر) Do not go to a prostration with a little sound while doing it at the time of reaching the desired location, after completing the desired location.

Prostrate to one’s thighs, prostrate to one’s stomach, the elbows near the sides of the body, the foreheads on the floor, the feet are not erect, the fingers close together by placing their heads between one’s hands and pointing to the qibla, look at the tip of one’s nose with eyes.

The sunnah for men is to point their toes to the qibla. The jurisprudence used for this article states that a woman does not straighten her toes upward. Most likely it will lift up its lower body and draw attention to it.

_Say tasbeeh to prostrate in a lower voice at least three times. It also applies to followers.

If any follower, wait to move first before moving imam. Once they start moving forward, go ahead with it.

_This suggested prayer says sitting with a low voice or staying silent for a moment.

“Rabbigh-fir lī, Rabbigh-fir lī’

(My Lord, forgive me. My Lord, forgive me).

_Say ‘Allahu akbar’  (الله أكبَر) a second time with a low voice while going to the prostrating position.

If any follower, wait to move first before moving imam. Once they start moving forward, go ahead with it.

_Say tasbeeh to prostrate in a lower voice at least three times.

“Subḥāna rabbīl-ʿalā’

If any follower, wait to move first before moving imam. Once they start moving forward, go ahead with it.

_Now repeat the steps of 6 to 21 again.

_At the end of the second cycle (rak ‘a), one sits. The sunnah position for women is called tawarruk.

Pull both legs to the right, thighs above each other, sitting on the left buttocks, hands over thighs in such a way that the tips of the fingers are knees, fingers together, and gaze in one’s lap.

Step in this position from 24 to 29.

Salat/Salah is for Allah, so is prayer and all things are pure. Peace be upon you, o prophet, as well as the mercy of Allah and his blessings. May peace be upon us and upon all the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and I bear witness that muhammad is his servant and messenger.

When one says’ Ashadu an lā ilaha ‘one raises the right index finger to the qibla and when one says’ illaLlahu’ one puts it down. It is best to form a circle by touching the thumb with the middle finger while the ring finger and pinky finger are brought closer together.

_Send blessings upon the prophet (peace and blessings of allaah be upon him) and offer greetings in a low voice and say:

“Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammadin wa ‘alaa ‘aali Muhammadin, kamaa sallayta ‘alaa ‘Ibraaheema wa ‘alaa ‘aali ‘Ibraaheema, ‘innaka Hamidun Majeed. Allaahumma baarik ‘alaa Muhammadin wa ‘alaa ‘aali Muhammadin, kamaa baarakta ‘alaa ‘Ibraaheema wa ‘alaa ‘aali ‘Ibraaheema, ‘innaka Hamidun Majeed’

(O Allah, bestow your favor on muhammad and on the family of muhammad as you have bestowed your favor on Ibrahim and on the family of Ibrahim, you are praiseworthy, the most glorious. O Allah, bless the family of muhammad and muhammad as you have blessed the family of ibrahim and ibrahim, you are praiseworthy, the most glorious).

Followers also say salat / salat during this time.

_Make a dua from the holy quran or the prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). It is important to pray in Arabic language while praying. For example:

“Rabbana atina fid dunya hasanatan wa fil akhirati hasanatan wa qina azhaban naar”.

(Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.. The constant supplication of the Prophet).

_To finish the prayer, turn the face to the right in such a way that the person behind the back can see someone’s right cheek. One should have eyes on the right shoulder, while saying:

السَّلامُ عَليْكُمْ وَ رَحْمَةُ الله

“As-salāmu ʿaleikum wa raḥmatullah”.

(Peace and mercy be upon you).

If a follower waits for the imam to say first and then join him. One intends to greet the angels, to those who pray with one, and to those who pray to the group’s leaders.

_Turn the face to the qibla and pause. Then turn to the left in such a way that a whole left cheek of the person behind can be seen. One should have a look on the left shoulder, while intending to greet the angels and the pious jinn, saying:

السَّلامُ عَليْكُمْ وَ رَحْمَةُ الله

“As-salāmu ʿaleikum wa raḥmatullah”.

(Peace and mercy be upon you).

If a follower, waits for the imam to say first and then join him. One intends to greet the angels, to those who pray with one, and to those who pray to the group’s leaders.

This brings to an end two rounds of prayer

(rak ‘ah).

_One repents especially for someone’s insufficiency in prayer, prays for what one wants, recites any prayer from the quran, or says a prayer related to the prophet:

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلامُ و مِنْكَ السَّلامُ تَبارَكْتَ يَا ذا الجَلالِ و الإكْرام

“Allahumma antas-ssalāmu wa minkas-ssalāmu tabārakta yā zhāl-jalāli wal-ikràām”.

(Oʾ Allah, You are peace and from You is peace. Blessed are You, Owner of Majesty and Honor).

One also says: all subhanallah thirty-three times (subhan Allah /سُبْحَانَ ٱللَّٰه), alhamdulillah thirty-three times (alhamdulillah/ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّٰهِ , ) and Allah akbar thirty-three times (Allah Akbar/ الله أكبر )(Allah is the greatest).

Out of prayer, supplication (supplication) can be made in any language.

_If it is a three-cycle (rak ‘ah) prayer like the west, one stage stands after 25. One added another cycle (rak) repeating phases 6 to 21, but missed stage 9 of reciting one additional chapter (surah) after the fatiha for the third cycle (rak). Then takes 24 to 29 steps to finish one last cycle (rak ‘ah).

If this is a four-cycle obligatory prayer, one stage stands after 25. Repeats 6-23 steps for a third cycle, but its phase 9. For the fourth cycle, at stages 6 to 21, but follows its stage 9, and then 24 to 29 steps to finish the prayer.
